It was 107 degrees at Choke this weekend! IT WAS HOT!! Few stayed for final weigh-in, but the majority weighed their fish and went home to the A/C.
It was nice to have James travel from Falcon to fish with us. We had 4 new members fish. Glad to see you there: Richard Eldridge, Robbie Thorsteinson, Matt Davidson and Luis Kempf. We even saw Gary Seaton and Hector Velarde.
Scott Saltz had another eventful weekend. He ran his aerators all day without checking his cranking battery. If someone has an extra set of jumper cables he sure could use them to make sure he gets to weigh-in on time.
Shawn also had an exciting day. He told me he lost a rod and reel for the first time this week pre-fishing. He only brought three fishing rigs with him for this tournament. He got a backlash in one of his reels, so he decided to fish with another rig. While he was fishing he decided to try and get the backlash out. He got so engrossed in getting the backlash out he forgot he was fishing until his rod and reel was heading overboard. As he reached for the rig, he got tangled up in his rod on the deck and broke it as he tumbled overboard with the rod and backlash reel in his hand and his cell phone in his pocket. Needless to say he did not recover the rod and reel that went overboard. Out of four rigs Shawn only has one left. Please let Shawn know if you have any extra equipment that you may not be using. He is in need.
One of our new members also had an exciting day. Robbie Thorsteinson had his fish in the weigh bag and as he stepped out of his boat, the bottom of the bag opened up and he lost a 6+ and all of the water back into the lake. He managed to grab the bottom of the bag before he lost the rest of his fish. Needless to say, he came to the scales with four fish. He is also in need of a new weigh bag.
